TournamentsSomething to think about…..

Much of the joy of being a sports parent, comes from watching your children compete in games. As part of the responsibilities, parents should be at every one of their sporting events, regardless of the level of play, period.

Understand the purpose of athletics. Sports are about kids learning and having fun. They’re not about attempting to earn college athletics scholarships.

Understand that you are possibly the biggest role model in your children’s life. Carrying on in the stands in stands, challenging the authority of coaches and officials does little to model positive behavior in your child’s presence.

Don’t live your live through your child’s athletic activities. This is their time. This is their place. Let them play.

Recognize that coaches are now in charge of your child’s athletic activities. Don’t undermine their authority-openly or behind the scenes. Make your cheers during games those of support of your child – not instructions as to how to play.
