Ponytail Sports was first published in magazine form in March, 2003. In August of 2008, we made a successful transition from print to web, after 32 print issues. Our main objective is to inform female athletes and their parents and coaches of the opportunities to participate in sports throughout Michigan.

FROM THE PUBLISHERWelcome to the new home of Ponytail Sports! Not only do we provide information about the opportunities for Michigan's female athletes to participate in sports, we also applaud our athletes by posting such things as Scholar-Athletes, good sportsmanship, recent college signings and outstanding play. If your looking for a sport camp to attend this summer, you've come to the right place. We're adding more each week so you'll want to check back often. Remember, there are a lot of different types of camps so it might be a good idea to call and ask for more information (size of class, hours, level, etc.). You can a list of suggestions on what to bring to camp on the "Hot News" page. There is also a short article about the benefits of attending camps written by Carol Hutchins, UM Head Softball Coach. We have lots of articles which were written specifically for Ponytail Sports visitors. New ones are starting to roll in too! We have a new addition to our writing staff, Margaret Hofmann. Margaret is a master performance coach and functional training expert who specializes in training female athletes. She'll be adding a new article monthly called Strength and Conditioning, so check it out! Whether your a player, coach or fan, we hope you will find what you're looking for. So many of us know how easy it is to spend countless hours searching the web for information. We are trying to help you avoid doing that by researching the clubs and organizaitons out there and having it all on one site; PonytailSports.com!! Make sure to check out the "Hot News" link on this page, as those are the events that happen periodically and are constantly changing. In that section we will post free clinics, special events, etc. If there's something you would like to see on PonyTailSports.com, contact us with your suggestions. We'd love to hear from you! Submit an article about your team and it's accomplishments, we would love to share it with our visitors. Send your photos! We're going to hold a photo contest and are collecting your pictures now. If you're having a camp/clinic, tournament, tryout or are starting a league in your area, please let us know and we will get the information posted. It's free to post! |
